February - April Updates
Welcome to the Winter-Spring updates. Now that the self-assessment season for 2024-25 has completed and the team is all nicely rested, we are preparing for the rest of the year. There are some events in the planning stage, we will announce more details shortly and how to book.
We would like to welcome Charlott Fagergard to the team in the roles of business development and monthly payroll.
Last quarter we had many celebrations
November
Lots of CPD sessions were attended to keep us up dated especially following the budget
The introduction of Calendly to book appointments with us was launched and has been well received
December
The team had a fantastic Christmas party celebration at the ICC where we all relaxed together dancing the night away with Smooth Moves, also based in Beechwood House.
We enjoyed our 2-week shutdown for Christmas and New Year. Time with family is essential.
Our Director Liz had a walking talking meeting climbing Twmbarlwm in Cwmbran planning for the future with Charlott Fagergard. This was a first for Liz and was greatly enjoyed.
January
All received self-assessments were submitted by the 31 January 2026 deadline.
This is a tough month and the team rose to the challenge with great success.

From April 2026 HMRC are introducing quarterly submissions for self-employed and landlords whose combined income is over the thresholds below. This is called Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD-IT). Currently Partnerships are not included in MTD-IT, PAYE income is not included in MTD-IT
New engagement letters to those affected from April 2026 have been emailed.
These dates are based on the sales/turnover submitted on 2024-25 self-assessment
> 01 Apr 2026: self-employed income and or rental income over £50,000
> 01 Apr 2027: self-employed income and or rental income over £30,000
> 01 Apr 2028: self-employed income and or rental income over £20,000

> Quarterly Submissions for self-employment and or rental income
> These FIXED quarters will be Apr – Jun, Jul – Sep, Oct – Dec, Jan – Mar.
> The FIXED submission deadlines are 07 Aug, 07 Nov, 07 Feb, 07 May.
> This should help you save for any self-assessment tax due
> In addition, you will need to submit a full self-assessment.
What will this look like?
> Capium software for MTD-IT will be available for those who need it.
> We will contact those affected from April 2026 first with the new requirements and prices
